The Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security (KPKP) Agency is intensively supervising the Muara Angke Fire Market in an effort to guarantee the quality and safety of fishery products.
It becomes an indicator of performance in handling food in Jakarta. Therefore the agency needs to make sure of it by routinely conducting supervision and sample testing.
North Jakarta KNPI Delivers Fish Package Aid to Residents"Fish is a source of animal protein which has important health benefits. In addition, the high level of fish consumption makes Jakarta a market area for various types of fishery products," expressed Jakarta KPKP Agency Head, Darjamuni, Tuesday (7/14).
He explained it was done in the form of sample testing on fish, which aims to ensure whether it was safe from formalin or not.
"We're testing on 63 samples in laboratory and the results are negative from formalin. That means the fish is safe for consumption," he explained.
He added supervision of fresh food, including fishery products, was still intensified strictly, even though it was amid the pandemic.
"It is done at Fish Auction Sites, Fish Processing Units, traditional markets and supermarkets," he stated.
